This is a template email but feel free to adapt it.

I am writing to ask if [name of business/organisation] will sign up to this open letter from businesses and organisations to our MPs in Devon calling for stronger action on the climate and ecological crisis.  

The Climate and Ecological Emergency Bill was presented to Parliament last September and to date has cross party support of over 115 MPs, but only one of the eleven Devon MPs.  If you would like to know more about the CEE Bill please see the CEE Bill website and watch a 2 minute explainer.

Devon County Council have passed a motion to call for Devon MPs to support the bill. They have been joined by the District Councils of East Devon, North Devon, Mid Devon, Teignbridge, Torridge and South Hams, along with dozens of town and parish councils. This is a broad coalition from all sections of politics - demonstrating that support for strong action on climate and nature is not political.

Your organisation can help build awareness of this campaign by signing up as co-signatory to the letter here.  

With the huge momentum building around the Bill both in Parliament and regionally, we believe there is a strong chance that our local MPs will come on board, but they need the support of their constituents, the local community and businesses first.
